Since bursting on to the scene in 2003 and later establishing themselves with 2005’s swooping sub bass stepper, “Talk to Frank”, Commix have made their name as hugely talented DJs and producers. Their music is driven by melody, rhythm and deep rolling bass lines that have shaken dance floors across the UK and beyond. After the success of their L.P “Call to Mind” on the ever prolific Metalheadz label, the Cambridge duo are now considered leading figures in the world of drum and bass. April saw commix pay a visit to Turbulence to show Newcastle their individual take on our favorite musical genre. Aems (who kindly stepped in for me on this one) asks their opinion on Newcastle, how they came up with their sound and what their plans are for the future.
