In a first for Newcastle Beats, we stray in to the realms of dubstep with one of the scene’s most promising artists; Headhunter. After raising his profile with his seminal breezeblock set for the “mighty” Mary Anne Hobbs, the Bristol boy is now tearing his own niche out of dubstep’s sizable underbelly. Mixing elements of Detroit techno, classic techstep and of course, dub, Headhunter is an artist to watch. After setting the back room of turbulence alight with his thunderous set, he kindly took some time out to have a chat with me about our fair city, his influences and his future plans.
