After establishing himself with the intense, industrial soundscape "secret's," on Grooverider's legendary Prototype recordings a decade ago, John B has been responsible for some of the most individual tracks in drum and bass. As a producer, he is as prolific as he is diverse. Creating anthems like "up all night," experimental pieces like "Broken Language" and more recently the 80's synth pop stylings of "Mr Freud," he is arguably one of the most flamboyant characters in the scene. In this interview, John talks openly about his humble beginings, his obsession with all things 80s and also his thoughts on drum and bass's image.
